  • Switch between your schools from the account menu, without signing in again.
  • If your account is at more than one school, you pick the one to open right after signing in at app.ubuddy.in.
  • Google and Apple sign-in work on app.ubuddy.in, the sign-in page every school shares.
  • Screens, uploads and fee receipts respond faster because the system no longer rebuilds its permission table on every request.
  • Student enquiries now always reach the fee desk as soon as they are recorded, converting an enquiry can no longer leave a half-created student behind, and an enquiry photo can only be attached to its own enquiry.
  • Changing a school's message quotas or topping them up no longer risks losing a change made at the same moment.
  • Attendance marking and calendar changes are now saved as one step, so a calendar change can no longer be half-applied, and two people changing the same calendar at once no longer get an error.
  • Generating a certificate can no longer use up a certificate number without creating the certificate.
  • Exam roll numbers can be assigned to a whole class or section in one go, filling only the blanks or renumbering everyone, the admit-card list can be searched by roll number and sorted by class roll number, and every class and stream the term assesses now appears in the pickers.
  • A subject can now be set to show a grade on the report card while teachers enter marks; grades are worked out the same way on screen and on the printed card, an absent student shows "Ab", subjects a student did not opt for no longer lower their percentage, and an assessment or grade scale can no longer be changed once marks are entered.
  • The exam time table can be filled in by picking the subject straight in each cell, the whole term's tables fit on one screen with a legend, and each table shows when it was last changed.
  • Admit-card configurations are listed on their own page, can cover a group of classes, can be deleted while no cards are generated, may leave the title blank to print the exam name, and the heading above the instructions can be changed.
  • A student's admit card now lists only the optional papers they chose, one school's large print job no longer holds up another school's receipts, and a print that hits a temporary problem is retried instead of being marked failed.
  • Subjects can be put in the school's own order, and the marks sheet, report card, time table and configuration screens list them in that order instead of alphabetically.
  • A teacher placed in a class taught in streams now sees that class's students, a teacher can print student forms only for the classes they are placed in, and a class change or a roll-number update is applied completely or not at all.
  • An admission or readmission that cannot be completed now leaves nothing half-saved, a refused edit no longer stores the files sent with it, and an admission is no longer refused over a required photo or document that was attached.
  • A bulk change or a student import that is interrupted now picks up where it stopped, without repeating or skipping a student.
  • A change to someone's role or permissions now takes effect within seconds on every screen, even if a server restarts at that moment.
  • A fee change and its entry in the accounts are now saved together, so a charge can no longer be left without its accounting entry.
  • Deleting a student now removes their sign-in and files reliably, even if the server restarts in the middle.
  • If the assistant cannot answer, the conversation is no longer left behind as an empty entry.
  • Adding, changing or removing an office account now happens in one step, so a failure part-way can no longer leave a half-created account, and permissions given from the Staff module are no longer lost when the account's permissions are saved from the users screen.
  • A fee change now reaches the accounts in the same step it is saved, so reports are up to date at once and a change the accounts cannot take is refused on the spot.
  • Your school's activity log now also shows when someone changes their own password, two-step sign-in, passkeys or phone number from your school's portal.
  • Once a transport route's default fee is saved, every student already riding that route is billed for it, even if the page is closed straight after saving.
  • The activity log opens faster, because its filters are no longer rebuilt from the whole history on every visit, and they now list every kind of record and action that can appear in it.
  • Two staff billing a student the same one-time fee at the same moment now bill it once, and a change to a student's fee plan made while a payment on that fee is being recorded now waits for the payment to finish and is then refused.
  • Fee billing and document handling no longer pause for several minutes after each update of the service.
  • Recording a student's fee payment now brings their late fees up to date in the same step as the receipt, instead of in a separate step just before it.
  • Two-step sign-in texts, sign-in alert emails and password-reset emails are now sent from a queue, so a server restart can no longer lose them, and a parent signing in for the first time can no longer end up with a half-made account.
  • Every field you have added as a column on the student list can now be included in the student export, under the name you gave it.
  • Names printed on fee receipts, certificates and attendance registers now always come from your own school's accounts, never from a same-named account at another school.
  • Schools can now print small layouts such as admit-card slips several to a sheet: the print file lays them out on A4 or another paper in rows and columns, ready to cut apart.
  • Updates to the service no longer risk a restart loop while the database is being upgraded.
  • A school's classes and subjects can now be graded on different grade scales - a three-point scale for co-scholastic subjects, say - with marks entry and report cards following the scale each subject reads, grade scales are set up as a simple ladder, a term's exams for every class are set up from one table in a few clicks, and teachers type grades in marks entry instead of picking them from a list.
  • A school can now set up its report cards once - including an annual card over all its terms with the year's total and grade - see every student's result before printing, and print each card as one file with every term's marks.
  • Choosing a school after signing in sometimes returned you to the sign-in screen.
  • The sign-in screen no longer announces the authenticator step before your password.
  • School admins can rename and remove exam partitions again, and choosing which email a guardian signs in with now works.
  • Uploading staff documents now checks your permission before anything is saved.
  • Uploading student photos and documents now checks your permission before anything is saved.
  • The activity log now shows an unauthorized attempt to edit a vehicle or delete a route under that action, instead of as an attempt to add a vehicle or route.
  • Replacing a staff member's documents is refused before anything is stored when the office account lacks the permission, and changes to vehicles and bus routes are recorded under their own labels again.
  • Assigning a fee to a newly admitted student no longer fails when the automatic fee set-up for that student is still catching up.
  • Opening a school's portal as its admin from the admin panel works again on the shared school address.
  • A school's sign-in restrictions now apply to every way of signing in, a person acting on a school's behalf can no longer change the office account's own sign-in settings, and resetting someone's second step signs them out everywhere.
  • Fee collection is refused before anything is written when the account lacks permission, the cashier always sees the receipt a collection saved, penalties are posted to the accounts once, and deleting a fee head keeps every charge that already holds money.
  • An office account can only pass on the permissions it holds itself, cannot change a school administrator's details or permissions, and a role's permission changes are recorded reliably even when two people edit at once.
  • An office account can no longer change the sign-in details or permissions of a colleague who holds more permissions than it does.
  • A school setting saved by the platform team is now announced to the rest of the system in the same step it is saved, so a session's fee charges can no longer be silently skipped.
  • Moving a student who has late-fee penalties to another fee plan no longer fails.
  • Office staff who manage user accounts now see only the actions and permissions they are allowed to use, instead of finding out from an error message.
  • Newly admitted students get their fees again, even if another student was added and then removed shortly before them.

Admit cards print in bulk again

  • An admit card's exam table lists each paper by date, day and subject, and a table's text size and row spacing can be set in the layout editor.

Fixed

  • Printing more than one admit card at once failed with a browser error.
  • Admit-card sections came from somewhere other than the school's configuration, and column titles scrolled out of view on a long list.
  • Setting a new password with the retype mistyped left the Update button greyed out with nothing to explain why.

Choose your second step

  • The two-step verification page lists both text messages and an authenticator app, lets you move between them, and lets you turn the number off.

Fixed

  • Continuing with Google or Apple from a school's own sign-in page ended in an error instead of signing you in.

A new way to sign in, and admit cards for a whole term

  • Signing in, enrolling an authenticator and entering the code all happen on Ubuddy's own sign-in page.
  • The sign-in box takes a username, a mobile number or an email address, whichever the person knows.
  • Anyone can turn on an authenticator app for their own account, replace it, or turn it off again.
  • A passkey or a code texted to the mobile number on the account signs you in, and that number can stand in for the authenticator at the second step.
  • A code sent by email signs you in when the account has an address on file.
  • The account area has a Security page of its own, with the detail of each sign-in method one step down.
  • Sessions lists everywhere the account is signed in, and any of them can be signed out from there.
  • The Security page shows recent activity on the account and when its password was last set.
  • Two-step verification can be required separately for school admins and sub admins, for staff and for students, and a phone number can be removed from an account.
  • When somebody loses the phone holding their authenticator, the school panel can reset it so their next sign-in enrols a new one.
  • A username belongs to one school, so two schools can use the same username without the two people becoming one account.
  • A staff member or a student's guardian signs in with the number or address already on their record, and a staff member's page shows how they sign in and can send them a password link.
  • The Sub Admins register lists only sub admins, and staff stay on the staff register.
  • Exam time tables are published from the term screen and print exactly as the school wrote them, and an assessment's parts can be renamed or removed.
  • An admit card can print what the student still owes, so the office can collect before the exam.
  • Every admit card of an exam term exports as one PDF instead of one class at a time.

Fixed

  • A student carrying a parent or guardian photo, or a file answered on a custom field, could not be opened at all.

Set your own password from an emailed link

  • A new school admin or sub admin is sent a link to set their own password instead of being given a temporary one, and a change of email address is confirmed from a link sent to the new address.
  • A student's profile keeps a history of every form field that changed, showing who changed it and when.
  • A custom form field can be set to hold a separate answer for each academic session, so last year's answer never carries into this year.
  • Turning that setting on carries each student's existing answer into the current session and leaves the other sessions blank.
  • Class and session of admission are proposed rather than locked, so a student admitted years ago can be recorded with the class they actually joined.

Edit any field from a student's profile

  • Each card on a student's profile carries one Edit button that opens exactly what the card shows, including the profile photo, the parent and guardian photos, the scholar number and the date of admission.
  • A day in the academic calendar now says why it is working or off, and a holiday or an event can be added from the day itself with the date already filled in.
  • A date marked as a holiday can no longer be set as working, and the calendar shows when only some classes are working on a day.
  • The fee desk's Export asks first whether you want defaulters or every student, and every fee export closes with a totals row.
  • The student list opens on the students who are actually in school.

Fixed

  • Dates before a mid-year admission read as Mixed in the calendar although every class was working that day.

The academic calendar, rebuilt

  • The academic calendar opens on a setup screen for a session nobody has configured yet, then lists every school day with its status, holiday, event and remarks, and each day opens a page of its own.
  • Adjustments, discounts and penalties can be reversed from a student's transaction history.
  • The collection report's totals follow the filters you set.
  • Collecting a fee lands you on the printable receipt.

Fee plans that differ by class

  • Inside one fee head, different classes can be served by different fee structures, so a plan is pinned to the classes it belongs to.
  • The attendance register fits a laptop screen without scrolling sideways, and its tallies read larger.
  • Export on the attendance register opens the day's column picker directly, with Excel, PDF or print.
